about us
Hi, we’re the founders of techiyaan. After going to engineering school and being surrounded by students who didn’t look like us, we were inspired to start a platform of connection and technical learning with other young women of south asian descent. With the launch of techiyaan, we bring this representation to the table by introducing young south asian women interested in the tech space not only to each other, but also to south asian women leaders in their prospective careers. Through accessible classes regarding programmatic thinking and project ideation, techiyaan promotes persuasive discourse, leadership skills, critical thinking, communication, and life-long connections.
The best part? You probably already have the supplies you need to get started.

Our vision is to build community within passionate young South-Asian women while equipping them with exemplary role-models, foundational technical knowledge, and self-confidence to pursue STEM-related interests.
“If you can find something that you’re really passionate about, whether you’re a man or a woman comes a lot less into play. Passion is a gender-neutralizing force.”
— Marissa Mayer, first female engineer at Google
